"You Get What You Pay For"

Recently I ran into a situation where our company was filling in for a rental's regular cleaner while they were on leave. We went for our first cleaning and found only a broom and a dustbuster to clean the floor with prior to mopping. Their current cleaning person was there and we asked if they had a vacuum for better clean up. They went to the office and brought back a second dust buster. When I mentioned these did not have good suction and I would just use the broom they said " we don't usually sweep, just mop". Imagine our surprise. How is a mop supposed to pick up the leaves and sticks that were drug in from the forrest? How does a mop get large chunks of food or dog food up? There was also a thick layer of dust on all of the woodwork, but we weren't supposed to clean that. Yet down the road the owners were concerned that it would take us too long and cost too much to continue our services.

We don't cut corners like not sweeping, or removing dust, or ignoring the crumbs under the counters that a mop can't reach. That is why my motto for the month is "You Get What You Pay For".
